J’utilise différents émaux, principalement blancs, qui vont venir contraster avec l’enfumage noir de mes pièces, leur conférant un aspect très graphique. Je joue sur l’épaisseur de mes émaux afin d’obtenir des camaïeux de blancs et différents motifs de tressaillages et craquelures. L’émaillage me permet d’insuffler un mouvement à mes pièces et est pour moi un véritable moyen d’expression. Il donne du relief et un élan à mes créations. Mais tout se joue lors de la cuisson Raku, c’est là que l’émail va être figé dans son dessin final et qu’il va obtenir ses craquelures si caractéristiques.
I use different enamels, mainly whites, which contrast with the black smoking of my pieces, giving them a very graphical aspect. I play with the thickness of my enamels to obtain nuances of whites and various patterns of cracklings. The enameling allows me to breathe movement to my pieces and is a genuine way of expression. It gives relief and boost to my creations. Everything is played out during the Raku firing, where the enamel will be solidified in its final design and obtain its typical cracks.
